Assemblyman Balvir Singh
(D) - 7th District
In the legislature, I have proudly supported bills that reflect our shared values and address real needs across our towns. I have been serving in the New Jersey Assembly since January 2025, representing the 7th Legislative District of Burlington County. Before joining the Assembly, I served as a Burlington County Commissioner from 2018 to 2025 and previously as a member of the Burlington Township Board of Education. I live in Burlington Township, where my wife and I stay busy supporting our children’s activities—from wrestling to soccer.
I immigrated to the United States from India with my family at the age of 14. I earned both bachelor’s and master’s degrees in mathematics and have served in public schools for more than 18 years as both a teacher and a curriculum/instructional supervisor.
In the Legislature, I serve on the Assembly Appropriations (AAP), Financial Institutions and Insurance (AFI), and Science, Innovation and Technology (AST) Committees. My legislative work focuses on expanding housing opportunities through the redevelopment of environmentally contaminated sites, establishing responsible guidelines for the use of artificial intelligence, strengthening tenant protections and eviction safeguards, and addressing emerging online prediction markets.
I am a proud millennial and committed to ensuring the voices of everyday people are heard in Trenton. I play pick-up soccer on the weekends and am an avid fan of all Philadelphia sports teams. You can often find me hiking, camping, fishing, or on road trips with my family.
